Ridita Tasmin

Ridita Tasmin received a BA (Hons) in English and an MA in Linguistics and ELT (English Language Teaching) with a dissertation from Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She actively participated in various research works and later worked as a research assistant in different projects since her university days. She joined the Open School of Bangladesh Open University (BOU-OS) as a lecturer in English in 2011. In her academic career at BOU, Ridita prepared four printed textbooks at the secondary and higher secondary levels. She also edited a graduate-level book.
In addition, she published 7 academic articles in various journals and 3 book chapters. She completed 14 audio and 13 video course-based lectures, all available on BOUtube. As a part of her job responsibility, she completed a course in distance mode titled ‘Certificate in Designing and Facilitating E-Learning’ (one-year online course) from the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand (OPNZ) under the fellowship program of the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Canada.
Being an art aficionado, she has professional training in painting. She also participated as an artist in various art exhibitions in prestigious venues. Her current areas of interest are living heritage, textile history, and saris, particularly the handloom saris of Bangladesh.
