Md. Moshiur Rahman currently holds the position of Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the School of Science and Technology (SST) in Bangladesh Open University (BOU) in Gazipur, Bangladesh, a role he has held since March 2021. Rahman's journey at BOU began in 2017 when he joined as a Lecturer, following his prior experience as an Assistant Maintenance Engineer since 2012, demonstrating his technical prowess early on. Notably, from June 2015 to May 2021, Rahman made significant contributions as an LMS and Server Maintenance Expert (Additional) at the e-Learning Center of BOU, where he played a key role in enhancing the institution's digital infrastructure. Additionally, he served as the LMS administrator, pivotal in establishing the institution's e-learning journey. Currently, Rahman serves as the Academic Coordinator for the Diploma of Computer Science and Application (DCSA) Program under SST at BOU, showcasing his commitment to academic excellence and administrative duties.
Rahman's dedication to academia extends beyond his role at BOU. He also served as an adjunct faculty member at the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), enriching the academic landscape with his expertise. Furthermore, Rahman is recognized as a resource person for various universities and institutes, lending his valuable insights to numerous training programs focused on information technology. Furthermore, Rahman contributes his expertise as an expert member of the Public Service Commission (PSC), showcasing his commitment to both education and public service.
Rahman is an esteemed e-learning expert with widely acknowledged, underpinned by his profound understanding of digital education technologies. With a solid background in instructional design, educational technology, and online learning platforms, Rahman has made significant contributions to the field of e-learning at BOU. His wealth of experience encompasses hands-on work with a myriad of e-learning tools and platforms.
Rahman was honoured with a prestigious fellowship from the ICT Division for his Master's level research at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in 2011 and also received board scholarships at the SSC and HSC levels. A versatile researcher, Rahman's interests span across various domains, including Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Human-Computer Interaction, Data Science, Analytics, and E-learning. He has contributed over seven articles to esteemed peer-reviewed journals and conferences, actively engaging in numerous academic committees and review roles for prestigious international and national journals and conferences. Rahman's dedication extends beyond research; he actively participates in conferences, workshops, seminars, and professional training both domestically and internationally. His proactive involvement in curriculum development, admission tests, examinations, and accreditation underscores his commitment to advancing the academic agenda. Committed to the holistic development of his department, Rahman is deeply involved in teaching, research, accreditation, and departmental development initiatives.
