Dr. Md. Rokibur Rahman is a distinguished academic specializing in poultry nutrition and production, as well as goat reproduction and nutrition. His expertise extends to open and distance learning (ODL) methodologies. Dr. Rahman earned his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2014, preceded by a Master of Science in Poultry Science and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry from Bangladesh Agricultural University.
Dr. Rahman's professional career at Bangladesh Open University (BOU) spans over two decades, where he currently serves as a Professor in Poultry Science. He has held various academic positions, progressing from Lecturer to Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and finally to Professor since May 2018.
His research has led to numerous publications, focusing on diverse topics such as poultry production, superovulation in goats, and the economics of poultry farming. Notable works include studies on the effects of hormonal supplements on goat ovulation and embryo production, the impact of rearing systems on poultry performance, and assessments of microbial quality in chicken meat products. Dr. Rahman has published extensively in esteemed journals including the Bangladesh Open University Journal of Agriculture and Rural Development, Pertanika Journal of Tropical Agricultural Science, and the Asian Australasian Journal of Animal Science.
In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Rahman has actively participated in various academic and administrative roles. He has been a member of the Academic Council at BOU, served on multiple school committees, and held significant roles in curriculum development for livestock and poultry management programs.
